✓ First annual accounts free ✓ Micro to large entities ✓ Dutch GAAP: Title 9, Book 2 DCC ✓ Primary database in the EU

The price of annual accounts software in brief

Annual accounts software is priced in three ways: a subscription per month or year, a licence per firm or user, or a fixed amount per set of annual accounts. At Jaarrekening.io the first annual accounts in your account are free, for every size class. After that you pay per set of annual accounts, by size class: € 250 for micro, € 500 for small, € 2.000 for medium-sized and € 5.000 for large, excl. VAT.

Suppliers' prices are hard to compare. Firm software is often priced on request, and in bookkeeping packages the annual accounts function is sometimes only in a more expensive subscription. So do not compare the monthly price, but what one complete set of annual accounts costs you.

  • The first annual accounts in your account are free, for every size class: the same complete annual accounts as a paid one, without payment details. This is one per account, not per entity.
  • No VAT is added: the provider is a small business in Germany (§ 19 UStG).
  • The price applies per entity per financial year. You pay in the financial year overview, before you import the trial balance, and receive an invoice.
  • The price follows the size class recorded for the financial year; it follows from the law and your figures.
  • If you keep the bookkeeping in the app, that is a separate subscription per entity per month, from € 125 excl. VAT for micro, including the periodic VAT returns. With your own bookkeeping package you do not need it.
  • Additional modules, such as consolidation, are a subscription per workspace, per month, with a thirty-day trial period; they are not yet in the app's menu. The amounts are on the pricing page.
  • You create an account yourself.

Worked examples

  • A micro BV without staff, first annual accounts in a new account: € 0. Every following financial year: € 250 excl. VAT.
  • A personal holding company with an operating company, both micro: two sets of annual accounts, together 2 × € 250 excl. VAT per financial year; in the first year one of the two is free if both are in the same account. If the operating company is small, the holding company often is too, if it is at the head of the group, because the group figures then count towards the size class (RJk M1.109).
  • A medium-sized BV: € 2.000 excl. VAT for the preparation. In addition you pay the accountant for the statutory audit.

Extra costs to take into account

  • Accountant: mandatory for medium-sized and large art. 2:393 DCC; for micro and small optional, for example for a compilation report.
  • Filing with the KVK: free.
  • Submitting via SBR: an intermediary or SBR service usually charges per filing.
  • eHerkenning: if you sign in with it, you usually pay the eHerkenning provider.
  • Your own time: closing entries, checking and writing the notes.

What to look for when comparing prices

  • Per entity or per user? A holding structure counts double under the first model.
  • Is the XBRL export in the price, and does the supplier also submit?
  • Which size classes and legal forms are supported?
  • Are taxonomy updates and new threshold amounts included?
  • Can you export your data if you stop?

Frequently asked questions

What does annual accounts software cost per year?

That differs per model. A bookkeeping package with an annual accounts function costs a monthly subscription, firm software an annual licence and some programs an amount per set of annual accounts. At Jaarrekening.io the first annual accounts in your account are free; after that you pay per set of annual accounts, from € 250 excl. VAT for a micro entity.

Is annual accounts software cheaper than an accountant?

That depends on what you compare. With software you pay less for preparation, but you do more yourself. If you have an audit requirement, you need the accountant anyway.

What does Jaarrekening.io cost for a holding company with an operating company?

You pay per entity per financial year. If the holding company and the operating company are both micro, that is twice € 250 excl. VAT; if they are in the same account, one of the two is free in the first year. For the holding company's size class, the group's figures count.

Are Jaarrekening.io prices inclusive of VAT?

No. All prices are exclusive of VAT.

Do I have to take out a subscription?

Not for the annual accounts: you pay once per financial year, and the first is free. The bookkeeping in the app is a monthly subscription per entity; additional modules, such as consolidation, a monthly subscription per workspace.

Is there a free version of Jaarrekening.io?

There is no limited free version, but the first annual accounts in your account are free and complete: with notes, publication version and, for every size class, an XBRL file as a validation candidate. You enter no payment details.
