Preparing Dutch annual accounts from King (KING ERP and KING Finance)
King Software continues as Bjorn Lunden. KING ERP and KING Finance remain; KING Financieel can only be consulted from 31 October 2026.
The short answer
King is nowadays a product line of Bjorn Lunden: KING ERP, KING Finance and KING Accountancy. We did not find an annual accounts module of its own; KING Accountancy mentions links with annual accounts software. Close the financial year provisionally or definitively and export the balances to Excel. If you still work in KING Financieel, export before 31 October 2026.

King is now called Bjorn Lunden: which product do you have?
Anyone who goes to kingsoftware.nl ends up at Bjorn Lunden. The name King lives on in the products. For your annual accounts it matters which product you use, because one of them is expiring.
| Product | Status according to Bjorn Lunden | Consequence for your export |
|---|---|---|
| KING ERP and KING ERP Online | Current product; on-premise or online | Close the financial year according to the manual from version 5.66a |
| KING Finance | Online accounting package for SMEs | Reports and data ‘easy to export to Excel and PDF’ |
| KING Accountancy | Software for accounting firms | Export to Excel and PDF, among others; RGS bridge schedule |
| KING Financieel and KING Factureren | Support stopped on 31 October 2025; no longer usable from 31 October 2026 | After that date you can only consult data: export now |
What King itself offers for the annual accounts
On the product pages and the support site we found no component that prepares or files annual accounts under Title 9 Book 2 DCC. KING Accountancy mentions ‘links with annual accounts software, reporting tools’ and other packages. The annual accounts are therefore produced outside King, at your firm or in separate software.
KING ERP is an ERP system with inventory, production and projects. That makes the annual work broader than the trial balance alone: before closing, Bjorn Lunden's manual also has you record the inventory position, the open items and the order book.
Exporting figures from KING ERP and KING Finance
We did not find a public help article for King with the menu path to the trial balance or the audit file. What is established:
- According to Bjorn Lunden's frequently asked questions, KING Finance and KING Accountancy export reports to Excel and PDF.
- For checking balance sheet balances, such as work in progress, the KING ERP manual mentions the overview Financial > Transaction info > Balance info.
- For users of KING Financieel, Bjorn Lunden describes two ways to switch: manually or via an audit file. So an audit file export exists; the menu path is in the switching manual.
Screen names differ per product and per version. Use the built-in hints of KING ERP or the support site support.kingsoftware.nl, and go by the content of the file: per account the number, the description, the opening balance and the closing balance. The trial balance guide describes that content.
RGS in King
For KING Accountancy, Bjorn Lunden mentions support for the RGS bridge schedule, with which a firm exchanges data with other software. For KING ERP we found no description of an RGS link. Ask your supplier or consultant whether your chart of accounts has RGS codes and whether they come along in the export. If the answer is no, you link the accounts to the statutory line items yourself; RGS mapping explains how.
Checks before exporting from KING ERP
The KING ERP manual ‘Closing the financial year’ knows two kinds of closing. A provisional closing also includes provisional journals and creates a provisional opening balance; you can repeat it. A definitive closing is only possible once all journals are definitive.
- Make a back-up: log in without an administration and choose General > Administration > Make back-up.
- Copy the administration at the balance sheet date (General > Administration > Copy administration), so that you can later retrieve the inventory and open items as at that date.
- Make the provisional journals definitive via Financial > Process multiple journals.
- Close the financial year and check the opening balance of the new year.
- If you still post corrections in the old year afterwards, have them ‘tie in’ in the new financial year.
Worked example: the provisional opening balance lags behind
A trading company closes 2025 provisionally on 15 January with a balance sheet total of € 1.842.600. In February the controller writes off € 14.200 of obsolete inventory. The 2025 closing balance sheet is now € 1.828.400, but the provisional 2026 opening balance still stands at € 1.842.600. If you run the provisional closing again, KING ERP replaces the old provisional opening balance and the years tie up again. Only export after that.
From King export to annual accounts
After the export follow the classification into the statutory line items, the comparative figures art. 2:363(5) DCC, the notes, the adoption and the filing art. 2:394 DCC. The size class determines how much you include and who reviews it.
| Size class | What is added | In practice with King |
|---|---|---|
| Micro and small | No audit requirement | Balances to Excel, prepare and file yourself or via the firm |
| Medium-sized | Audit by an accountant art. 2:393(1) DCC and management report | Besides the balances, supply the copy administration at the balance sheet date |
| Large | Full annual accounts | Agree with the accountant which inventory and project reports from KING ERP are needed |
King and Jaarrekening.io
Jaarrekening.io reads a trial balance in Excel or CSV, or an XAF audit file in version 3.1 or 3.2. With Excel the app recognises separate columns for debit and credit or one balance column; if the trial balance does not balance, you see the difference and the import stops. RGS codes are only taken over from an audit file. A direct link with King is in preparation and not yet released. More about the options: linking to your accounting package.
When your firm or accountant is the better route
If your firm works with KING Accountancy, it looks along in the same administration and exporting is not needed. With inventory, work in progress or production, the difficult part of the annual accounts lies in the valuation, and that does not follow from an export. Preparing it yourself suits a straightforward BV. Those who have to leave KING Financieel and have a simple administration can also look at the bookkeeping of Jaarrekening.io.

Frequently asked questions
Until when can I still use KING Financieel?
Bjorn Lunden stopped support for KING Financieel and KING Factureren on 31 October 2025. From 31 October 2026 the software can no longer be used; after that you can only consult your data. The supplier names KING Finance as the successor.
Is KING Finance the same as iMUIS Online?
According to Bjorn Lunden, KING Finance and KING Accountancy are built on the database of iMUIS Online; the way of working is almost the same. iMUIS and iMUIS Online themselves have no longer been supported since 31 March 2026.
Can I still correct after a definitive closing in KING ERP?
Yes. The manual describes that after the definitive closing you can still post entries in the old year and have them tie in with the new financial year, so that the opening balance is updated.
Where do I find the menu path for the audit file in KING ERP?
It is not in the public support articles we consulted. Look at the hints inside KING ERP or ask the helpdesk via support.kingsoftware.nl. Note which version the file has.
